I think WWE released it Tuesday, I was going to go for the Silvervision one because of the tribute shows but I went with the normal one as it was almost €15 cheaper, out sooner and tbh i dont think i could watch those tribute shows again, not that I cant watch Eddie matches but I dont think i'd watch the tributes again

I had mine ordered of axlemusic but cancelled for the tribute show.I have them on dvd but they complete the set.
Plus the rey/hbk match alone makes it worthy.

Tanahashi did a great on one TNA recently changing direction in the air, but its cheapened by the amount of people doing it, Rey,Chavo,Homicide, Christian etc

Cash in. He already had a DVD out before he died. How do they handle Benoit in the new one? Do they mention him at all?

I'm sort of the same. Especially with the stuff that came out after his death about him not being as clean as we thought at the time. It was all his own doing unfortunately

Add the Eddieploitation, the whole Benoit thing, the bull**** wellness policy and Congress losing interest in looking into Wrestling deaths for me.

I can't stand Rey and Chavo anymore for the way they blatantly milked his death for over a year.

I think you need to give them a bit more respect then that. They lost a long time friend and uncle.

I think we need to blame WWE for the milking.

Paying "tribute" in the eyes of wwe is always a money making scam.

They could of easily said "NO" and they would of had every right to say it. The fact that this went on for nearly a year showed they were very happy to exploit his death [Rey only won the belt becasue of it]

    Here here
Rey got the most out of it with the title belt and chavo was worse of as it was his actual family member and what did he gain out of it?

Thanks jeff. Chavo did get the short end of the stick. Atleast he has Vickie with him now

Had it been the other way round do you think Eddie would have said no?
You don't use the word no unless you happen to be HHH ,HBK or Taker.
Not if you want to keep working.

I dont doubt that for a second bro. But did you notice that chavo did not get loads off eddies death?
Obviously he might not have wanted any part of it.

But on the part of reys, obviously i cant speak for him, but if it was me.
If i was working for a fed and my best buddy died and someone came to me and said "You know were all saddned by what happened. and we want him to be remembered by your title win at the next mania." i think if i was rey i would have said yeah.
    Anyone would be proud to.

rey winning the best made great television and made wrestling seem romantic or somethin. they went with that storyline and it was brilliant for me.

He would have said No as he said no to AAA when his best friend Art Barr died.

... I don't know. That was the purpose of asking the question.

I doubt they care any more. To the best of my knowledge, He's been mentioned on WWE.Com since, and appeared on the SummerSlam anthology, and they stopped removing his 24/7 appearances too.

So i'd say he's in there.

As for arguing about chavo not getting anything from the death.. To be honest.. If Eddie Didn't die.. Well...

We would like to wish Kirwin White all the best in his future endeavors

They really can't fire them for saying "No" especially for something like that. WWE wouldn't want any negativity from the media if they found out they fired Rey and/or Chavo for not wanting to whore out Eddie's death.

It showed he was a shameless whore. He couldn't go a second without Eddie's name. They should of done their tribute for a week or so then that was it and after the match at WM Rey could of grabbed the mic and said "This is for you Eddie." That would of meant alot more for the crowd if done that way instead of whoring out Eddie's name for nearly a year. The knee injury was the best thing to happen to Rey because the crowds had turned on him big time by then.

It doesn't matter how you get an opurtunity like that, you take it. Any, I'd be 100% sure that Eddy would have wanted Rey as champ more than Kurt or Orton, Rey was way over at the time anyway. Financially it worked out when you look out how much merchandise Rey pushes these days

100% agree. It is one of the reasons why WWE hired Vicki in the first place.

Its FAKE and I don’t think Eddy was belt mark. He pretty much voluntarily stepped down as Smackdown Champion.

Hence why he didn’t need to exploit the death. He could have just said that he was dedicating his Wrestlemania match to Eddie and just moved on.

Rey's reign was disaster across the board and actually damaged him. To say his reign had a positive effect on merchandise sales simply isn’t true.

This is arguable. Rey probably realised he'd never get another chance to win the Rumble and hold the belt. I'd be surprised if he didn't ask the family and if he did why shouldn't he take it. It's a massive honour, regardless if it's fake

Eddy might not have been a belt mark but despite the over-excessive drug use, he wasn't stupid. I don't think any real friend would begrudge Rey for taking the belt. Friends tend to want what's best for each other and taking the belt was best for Rey

I have no idea what the merchandise sales were before Rey became the champ but the belt gave him massive legitamacy to the kids who buy his crap (and who don't know wrestling is fake). Since he got his reign he's certainly one of the biggest merchandise pushers for the WWE, probably the biggest sell for the under-12 age group which the WWE are aiming for. I really believe that having Rey on the belt at the time would have been no less financially poor than Angle, who wasn't that big of a draw when he held the belt before, a green Orton and a really poor drawing JBl, even with his great Eddie feud. None of those three come even close to the money that Rey makes in merch (educated guess btw) so long term I don't think it was a "disaster"

3 years on and it feels like only yesterday that I was watching him do what he did best-entertain.Whether he was on the mic or in the ring, eddie gave it his ALL.It was the first wrestler whose death really shook me,and sadly it wasn't the last.
    RIP eddie-gone but not forgotten

Sorry but that is no excuse and it reflects badly on Rey.

Do you really think Vicki was going to say no to Rey? Vicki was in no position to tell Rey no as she was held over the barrel by WWE as she would have lost her house without WWE's money.

You should look up what other "real" friends and family of Eddie had to say about this.

I don’t think exploiting your friend's death is included in this.

Correlation doesn’t prove cause. Rey was made seem less legitimate as a result of the title reign. WWE knew it was mistake as soon as they put the title on him. As I said in the post you replied to “to say his reign had a positive effect on merchandise sales simply isn’t true.”

It was a ratings and live gate disaster worse than the three you mentioned hence they took it off him. He wasn’t a believable Champion.

Think it depends on how flexible your morals are. Personally, for Rey, I think the ends justified the means

Was his reign really less of a draw than JBL's
