Quick question about combining services....

Imagine if you will that I have a quad lnb with the 4 cables running back to a central point in the house (cupboard). From there, I can route the signal on those 4 cables to any room in the house by joing the cables together (not ideal, but it will do).

Now then, once I connect the cables (kitchen, tv room, bedroom), I'll install a FTA or Freesat box at each location.

Now then, also running back to that central point is a feed from an aerial in the attic. Currently that feed is fed into a one4all amplified distribution thingy.. From there, it uses the same cables that run to each room that I want to send the satellite signal down.

So.... I need to combine the satellite feed and an output from the amp for each room back at the cupboard. Then at the far end beside the TV, I need to split these signals and feed one to the TV and one to the Satellite receiver.

What is:
A: The cheapest way of doing this?
B: The Best way of doing this?
C: The best value for money way of doing this?

Thanks for any help.
MJ

TV/SAT combiner, 1 in the cupboard and 1 at the tv point (2 on each cable - €16 per cable).

Something like this, Diplexed or Triplexed Wallplate (single cable feed).

Thanks for that!

Since MJ seems to have his answer can I bump slightly and ask a related question.

One cable running from attic to wall socket with just a single connection on the wall plate (coax connector).

Could I run the sat cable (freesat so no RTE:mad:) into the attic and then combine the analog RTE signal in the attic with the sat cable, send it down the individual cable in the wall and split the signal at the wall socket (so that I connect to the sat box and send the coax direct to the TV).

What do I need to make this happen ? Do I need more than this
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=36359
i.e. Do I need something in the attic that joins the two signals in the first place?

I know this has been discussed several times here but now that I need to do it I can't find any posts on it.

Thanks in advance

Run the sat cable from the dish to the attic, connect the sat and aerial cables using a TV/SAT combiner, connect the down cable to the combiner output.

Replace the single output wallplate with a Diplexed or Triplexed Wallplate (single cable feed).

A similar question.

If I wanted to run a 4th cable....the 2nd of the 2 needed for sky+, I have no way of running the 2nd cable down to where it needs to go.

Can I run 2 satellite cables into the TV/SAT combiner, down a single cable and then have 2 single cable after I use the TV/SAT combiner at the box??

Probably not, if anyone has a suggestion it be great, as my alternative is to tape cable to cable, pull it and hope I dont lose it (which I will)

:)

If your putting in Sky or Sky plus, run the cables to the attic, put a power socket up there, and put ur box in the attic, connect your aerial to the input of the sky box and then feed as many rooms as you want with a digital amplifier and control the sky box via use of a magic eye...

No thanks. RGB + stereo preferable to RF PAL + Mono.
