What is the weirdest random thing you've seen in your life? I have to say one of the strangest things I've ever seen was a guy sitting in his car with a pile of plastic bags in the passenger seat...eating them one by one...

Was driving through the wicklow mountains at about 11pm, pitch black. Must've been 40mins from civilization and the weathers beyond ****e, can't see further than 10ft infront of the car because of the rain and fog.
Cue a cyclist in shorts with a bin liner and no lights

    Doesnt beat your binman though

This had to be most embarrasing. When I was 15 , during the summer I used to fit carpet with my uncle. And one morning he arrived to collect me in the van but there was no windscreen.I asked what had happened and he said the bleedin' Knackers robbed it.Anyway we were on our way to a job at the lights at newlands cross when it started pissing torrental rain.
The rain was blowing in our faces at high speed and we had to keep wiping our faces.Im tellin' ya everyone in their cars were all poining and laughing nearly pissin' their pants lookin' at us two eijits in this fcukin van with now windscreen. The funniest bit was when we drove off from the lights all the cars drove beside us to see how my uncle was gonna drive INTO the rain up the nass road. And they still sat thetre laughing

    F**king Bizzare or what:)

One morning I got up to find I had the house to myself. Great, I thought, given how rarely that happened. So I stuck on my Beck CD, full volume, and sat in the front room flicking through the channels.

The doorbell rang and through the window I could see a kid, around 8 years old or so. Must be begging I thought. Now, it's tradition in the Earthhorse household to give to beggers so I went to the door ready to be asked for some change or clothes or something. I opened the door.

"Mister? Can I ask you a question?"
    "A question?"
    "Yes."
    "Yeah. Okay."
"Do you know what a blowjob is?"

At this point I'm thinking this is some kind of gag. A set up. A prank.

"Yes, I do," I say, and start closing the door.
"Well, would you mind telling me so?"

This gives me pause for thought. It doesn't sound like a setup after all.

"Get one of your friends to tell you. Or your brother."
"My brother says I have to give him one. Do you know what it is?"
"Your brother says you have to give him a blowjob?"
"Yeah. Do you know what it is?"

Now, at this point I'm just confused. Completely. Totally. Could be his brother was just bullying him but I'm also thinking - no car in the drive, kid's a bit knackery, this could be some sort of ruse or dare, his question is completely strange and it's Sunday morning. Enough is enough, I decide.

"Yes. But you'll have to ask someone else what it is. Sorry."

So I close the door over on him and his protests. And I pause for a second and think; what the fuck just happened? And the kid starts walking out the drive and half way out he turns around, tears streaming down his face and furiously raises two fingers to the house.

No idea, boards, seriously no idea what the fuck that was all about.

This might be fairly random; but a true story.
Was walking down Lower Baggot Street heading up towards Stephens Green a couple of years ago on the same day Munster were playing Wasps in the Heineken Cup in Lansdowne Road. Could have been approx 2004/2005??
Street was buzzing with supporters on their way down to the match. Was walking by Larry Murphys pub on the corner of Baggot Street and Fitzwilliam Sq when I saw this big fat bloke in a Wasps jersey walking out of the pub carrying 4 pints in his hand with an unlit cigarette in his mouth. As he put the drinks down on the table (obviously sitting outside the pub) for his pals; he took the cigarrette out of his mouth and blurted out the following: "F******g Irish..who'se f*****g idea was it to ban smoking in pubs...f*****g t***t." Whereupon his pals agree in unison by mouthing out similar colourful phrases. As I was turning my head back towards the direction of Baggot St, i accidentally bumped into a middle aged man who was walking in the opposite direction who by the looks of it was listening to what was being said at the table outside Larry Murphys. When I stopped and apologised to guy; I realised it was Michael Martin.
    No joke.

It was a dark bleak morning and the fog was as thick as it could probably ever get as we headed out the dual carraigeway for work. You could barely see 20 mtrs in front of you.

We were just coming up on the two mile inn hotel and I saw the brakelights of another car so I slowed down. My opinion of the distance was wrong so I locked up on the brakes. There was an elephant standing in the middle of the road with its trunk in the window of a car full of americans. They were all screaming and the driver was panicking trying to get the car into reverse. The car was so full of luggage the people in the back could not get out and were panicking.

I walked up and they were pawing the windows screaming at me. I opened the door and pulled out a suitcase. They scrabled out and ran behind my car.

Later at work I heard a traffic report all very normal sounding.

Traffic on the long mile road. The something roundabout in Galway and the bridge in waterford etc etc. Ennis road traffic is busy so is Raheen and Dock road and camels are loose on the dual carraigeway. Traffic is also busy in Oranmore and Sligo. They just slipped in a comment about camels. Imagine being a tourist and hearing that on the radio. Bloody drunken Irish.

Was driving down a small country road one day near my parents place, the type with a high ditch on either side, then as I drive around a corner, I saw a guy sitting on the side of the road, looking a bit shaken and his car, a silver golf half way up a tree in the ditch, basically at 70 - 80 degrees to the road..

I pulled up, asked him was he ok and was he hurt, he said he was fine, did he need any help, nope, all fine.. informed him he might want to move in case the car shifts and decided to come back down on top of him.. which he did and I drove on..

Came back that way the same way about half an hour later and both he and the car were gone.. no idea how the hell he got it out of there, but the tree was in bits and the ditch had a big hole in it..

    All very strange..

I was driving off road one day in a Hilux on the Fermoy Bypass. A Volvo A40E which is a 39tonne dumper truck, they had been driving up and down the site all the day and had dug big tracks in the mud then it had been raining heavily. Basically you didnt know if it was a big puddle or a massive trench but as there was no way around we decided to have a go.

I drove into the middle of it which we are trained to do because if you are in the middle you might only tilt left or right and not tip over. We leaned left, we leaned left very very hard and fast. The passenger window was open and all the mud and water started pissing into the jeep all over the guy in the seat. We were about to flip over so much that I left go of the steering wheel laughing my ass off and fell on top of him with my head going through the window and into the mud and water. We were also under a flyover and a woman was walking her dogs. She was looking down in horror. I got out with just above my waist covered in water still laughing my ass off. John climbed out onto the roof and I tried to walk away only to trip on a rock and dissapear under for a moment. I looked up at her and she shouted down "you are both pigs" and stormed off. The rubber duck had to come to remove the jeep.

Yes, we got paid to go off road driving amongst the annoyance of having to build motorways.

The sea gull reminds me of an incident with my cat.

He was sitting on the roof of the house opposite my back garden. Its a flat roof and he goes over there to stretch out in the sun in Summer.

Anyway, this day he was walking along the wall running alongside the roof - so the neighbours ajoining wall - and three magpies were hopping along behind him and it was like they were jeering him. Hed walk along and they hop hop hop and shreik behind him and then he'd whip round and throw them a look....hes a big big cat....and then theyd act like nothing was happenning. It was like some bizzare game of animal statues - you know the game you used to play as a kid? I could hear the "hack kack kack" sound they made from the kitchen and the silence when he turned around. They might as well have been scuffing their heels and whisteling.

It went right on till the end of the wall when he jumped down into my garden. The whole thing lasted about two minuets in all. Watched it all wondering if he was going to rip the head offa one of the 'pies....but he didnt.

    Hes kinda strange anyway.

This probably happens all the time... but hey

When I was in thailand, sitting on the beach enjoying the sun with a few friends. This monkey (no idea what type... baboonish looking, but not a baboon) wandered down. Walks straight up to us, picks up my can of coke and starts drinking. Then wanders over to one of the girls bags, pulls out a box of pringles, opens them, and sits down munching away for a good 15 minutes.
Takes another sip of coke then wanders off again.
    Very very surreal.

I'm sure I could come up with more bizarre incidences, but this sprung to mind.

The Jeep wasnt great to start off with. The laboratory monkey was tasked to clean it out. I drove it back considering I was destroyed anyhow.

Poor monkey boy. We did actually work in a lab, it was not a joke about monkeys in labs. We called him lab monkey anyway. :D

    Right of passage

Another memory just popped into my head. The day I was saved from a stampeding bull by a lowly farm hand :D

Think I was about 8 at the time. This bull was after escaping from some local farm and was wandering around our quiet suburban village.
The bull had already chased my friend all the way to his house....
Me? well, I was safe for now... so I spent my time laughing at him.
Naturally enough my laughing attracted the attention of said bull, who was now seeking a new attack point, and he rushed me in a very very villainous nature :pac:

For some reason I was completely frozen to the spot and this colossus bearing down on me....... and then, out of nowhere, comes this young kid on a bmx bike. He leaps from the bike slamming into me and knocking me over a low fence nearby, while the bull went flying past.
    Ah, my saviour!!!!

not really that bizarre, but must have been funny for people watching.
