I graduated with an honours degree in May from sligo and moved away last month to New Zealand to find work. No more than at home there aren't an abundance of graduate opportunities here but Iam applying for any that come up. Does anyone have any tips or hints at how to push for a job? I've been calling the places I apply to and writin pretty good cover letters but no joy. Thanks!

There are a lot of ads in the Irish times jobs, even today, for engineering jobs in NZ.Maybe have a look at their website.

if you're in mechanical or electrical, try this guy?
    http://www.irishtimes.com/servlet/Satellite?c=NM_JobAdvert_C&childpagename=flat.jobs.nicemove.ie%2FNM_JobAdvert_C%2FJobDetailView&cid=1226166753880&packedargs=PageMode%3D0&pagename=IT_Nicemove%2FRender

(not the ad itself, but the guy advertising, he says he has a range of clients.. couldnt hurt?)

Maybe ask for a 6-month trial or something like that in the cover letter. Also if you did any projects in your own time(engineering-type obviously), put it on the CV - it is relevant! That;s how i got my job.
