    Hi there.

I have a problem with my Dell laptop. I called Dell and they said that I need to reinstall windows vista and it will cost €90.00.

At the moment the laptop will not allow me to access windows it gives me a black screen, I have information on the laptop that I need to get from it.

Is there anyway I can get this data back?

    Thanks :)

Have Dell supplied a rescue/backup disk when you got the laptop?
Can you get into safe mode?

Have you run the diagnostics to rule out hardware failure?

The vista dvd you have should have a option called "Startup Repair" if you boot off the disc, info HERE]
