Hi there, I am looking for a very cheap gpu that will manage 1080p (mainly for bluray etc.).

There are no free power connections on the PSU i'm using and the quieter it is the better! Any ideas?

Price limit is about 40 euro, new or pre-owned.

    Thanks.

What kinda cpu/Ram do you have, Cos its all well and good have a gpu that can do it but with a 1080p blu ray you will need at LEAST Core2DUO.

Not true, any GPU with well-implemented hardware decoding coupled with a single-core P4 3.0Ghz is sufficient for 1080P Blu-ray. Core2 is always nice tho :)

Hi Subway, that card looks like a good deal. I am interested in doing the same as Ubaroo. Would that card cover HD recording? I plan on building a HTPC with Core2 and a FloppyDTV S2 TV card.

    Any thoughts?

The card will playback HD if thats what you are asking? In terms of recording, a PIII with a decent hard disk and disk controller would do it with ease. No way in hell it will play it back though..
