Boundary Query

    Guys & Gals,

I've a tentative boundary dispute with a new house-owner whose property adjoins my lands. He's erected an boundary wall about 15 feet inside what I'd define as my property and is disputing the boundary line. I've gotten copies of the folios for the properties, but as most of you'll know, the line on a folio map represents a width of up to 10 feet or more when translated onto the ground!

I need to get some expert input on the issue so that I can get to a clinical resolution ASAP - the last thing I need right now is a re-run of "The Field"!!!

Does anyone know of any resource I can hire or get involved who could provide a definitive "boundary line"?
I've heard that there are local "datum points" from which land boundaries can be accurately tracked but that the process can be 'expensive'. I cannot get any information on this type of process, and cannot get a definition of 'expensive' ........... €200 to some people can represent an outrageous sum!!!!

Essentially I want to get this one resolved quickly and clinically so that we're all taking to each other at the end of the day.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

Get a surveyor to mark it out.
