Hi guys i was just wondering does anyone know how long of a wait you have to suffer before you hear either way if you were successful or not in your job application to a county council?
Its been over two months now but surely if i wasnt successful i will recieve a dear john or does that just not happen anymore? is it now a case of well this guy is not right for the job so lets forget about him and look at the next person?

    any thoughts?

    Did you do an interview?

If not then you probably won't hear anything back

Not sure bout the Co Council, but not many jobs nowadays will contact you if you are unsuccessful. No harm to give them a ring and ask, it will show you are eager for the job too :D

Over two months? Of course they wont come looking now. You should have called them after a week.

In general no, but at the same time, it shows initiative, desire, and that you are really keen to get the job. In particular instances, that could just tip the balance if the decision is close. All the same, in my experiences, if you don't hear back in 72hrs, you ain't hearing back at all (unless its one of these drawn out recruitment competitions)
