    Hi,
Im off to London this weekend and would like to pick up a toiletries pack that i can carry on flight.
Do boots or anyone sell such a thing?
You know some shave gel, toothpaste, hair gel, aftershave etc

Can i carry on a mach 3 with blade?
Is 100ml the total amount of liquid i can carry on, or is it the max size of each container i can carry?
I was thinking of just buying some small jars/bottle and taking a little bit of my own over.

What is the best idea here?

Also what kind of a power plug will i need over there? 2 pin? Any idea's where to get a good travel adapter?

    Thanks
    John

    1) Not sure if Boots do themm but my local "McCabe's" pharmacy was selling travel packsa month ago. Own brand type stuff...
    2) You don't need an adaptor for London
    3) The rules are one clear plastic bag, containing no more than ten containers, each container must be less than 100ml in size (i.e you can't have a half full 150ml container)

I noirmally buy a 50ml deodorant if I'm heading for a couple of days (€1.40 in Dunnes). Aftershave/cologne bottles are usually under 100ml. Toothpaste usually under 100ml. Missus bought 100ml containers and we put our own shower gel/shampoo in these.

Probably won't get away with the razor, but if they happen to be selling them in the mini chemist type shops airside then pick them up there, otherwise go scruffy for a couple of days.

    Thanks guys,
so you're sure that i can carry up to 1 litre of liquids, as long as its split out into 10 separate containers of less than 100mil??

Also the plug in London are the same as here?

Great so, thanks. Im going to pick up some small containers in tesco after, and use the disposable razor...

Last question, does anyone know about the oyster card for the tube in London? It loosm the job, much cheaper fares on the tube. BUT, can i still get one? Its too late to get one sent to here, but can i just get one printed off in Liverpool street station on friday night when i arrive?

Other than that any tips for moving around London?

    Thanks guys
    John

You don't need to buy a toiletries bag. Put your toiletries in a 1-litre ziploc-type bag of the type required for airport security; that can also be your toiletries bag.

If you are flying to Heathrow, you can get an Oyster Card at the tube station there.

If it's a holiday visit, my most important advice on getting around is to have comfortable shoes.

    Power plugs are the same.

Liquid/ gels - no more than 100ml and no more than 10 such items, also supposed to all be put in a 1 litre size ziplock bag, but that then makes the 10 x 100ml impossible, so ignore that bit. Depending on the "security" person that you encounter though having random unlabled product may not get through if it does not actually have 100ml or less printed on the side of the container.

Getting around - been a while so don't know the prices, but you can get underground cards for unlimited daily travel within particular zones and you'd probably only need the ones for the central zone and maybe the next one out. I think they cover the buses as well, but the underground will go everywhere you need.

Daily tube pass for Zones 1+2 (likely to be all you need) is £5.30 for off peak (after 9.30 Mon-Fri, All day weekend). Its £5.90 for zones 1-4.

Oyster cards can be bought in the stations. There's a £3 admin fee when you first buy them
