What happens if you fail a module in semester 1?

You repeat it in September as far as I remember. Don't fail that though or you'll have to do the whole year again!

Depends on your result (and possibly course).

When I was there, you could compensate one exam failed 25-40%, 2 30-30% or 3 35-40%.

You needed to pass another exame by double what you failed by

e.g. Fail maths at 25%, get 70% in Chemistry

SO if I fail a module in Semester 1 and then fail the repeat exam will I have to repeat the year?

You only need to repeat what you failed. So if you fail the Christmas exam and the repeat exam in August, then you'll have to repeat that module the next year, depending on the course and structure of the module you may only need to repeat the exam which means you wouldnt need to attend lectures, tutorials, practicals, in-lecture exams etc. you'd just turn up on the day for the exam.

    Thanks for that!

If you only have one repeat and fail it though, you might want to ask if your in the right course

Yeah I know, I'm just looking at worst case scenario. There is one module that I really am terrified of failing. I'm trying to do extra work on it though so it doesn't come to me having to repeat it!
