What speed did you use when burning the disc?

Drop it down to x2 and see if you get the same problem.

Another reason could be cheap media, what brand are the discs you are using?

they are memorex discs, reckon the speed was about 8x, maybe 4x

dropped the speed down to 2x, no change. would it have anything to do with the program settings? im using nero 7, under the heading "make your own dvd video files"......

Have you tried just making a data dvd, select to finish the session and burn at 2x.

If you still have problems try and use different media!

If you have a 360 or PS3, you can just download TVersity for free and stream over your network to your TV.

Are you converting .avi's to dvd (.vob) using Nero? If so you're gettign that jerk because of fps (frames per second). Avi's have a different frame rate and therefore Nero has to add an extra frame when converting. Thats whewre the jerk comes in. You need to get a better converting program like Tmpgenc or something. ALternativly buy a dvd player that plays divx. Then - create a data dvd using nero and burn the clips directly onto your DVD.
