    Hi all,
    Know this must be a common thread but;
I am interested in getting involved in target shooting. Have shooting for about a year and would like to get invovled in target shooting.

Does anyone know of any clubs/ranges in the West Dublin, Kildare area and how would one go about getting invvolved in the sport??

    Thanks.

There's Fermoy, and I'd say yes, but they're not exactly averse to new members :D

If you check out the club website you will see what they shoot. Kieran Barry is a friendly guy and will tell you all you need to know about membership

Also BRC Shooting Club in Bohernabreena.

Check out the boards wiki forinformation on many clubs and ranges and the disciplines they shoot.

You didn't tell us what type of target shooting you wanted to take up. ;)

Well, in shotgun, you've got trap, skeet sporting etc.
In rifle, you've got smallbore target rifle, fullbore target rifle, f-class, sporting rifle, silhouettes, gallery rifle, air rifle etc.
In pistol you've got smallbore standard and rapid-fire, fullbore static, practical pistol, air pistol etc.

There are dozens of different things to try. Have you anything in particular in mind?

    Hey hibrion,
looks like we have a similar post going,
I got some good replies on mine,

It looks like hilltop and BRC are near me so I'm going to start making enquiries there.

Would like to start with rifle shooting, nothing too big to begin wth. Have had a .223 for about a year now but only for hunting. Would eventually like to do some pistol shooting but I know thats a long proccess.
    What would you recomend??

See previous post - Hilltop is a commercial range and they cover smallbore and fullbore pistol. You could have a look there to see if it suits you.
