    Hi,

Some very important info for anyone running AVG anti virus and Windows XP (and possibly other versions).

AVG's latest update wrongly detects that user32.dll is a threat and/or has been infected. If you choose to quarantine or delete this file, you will be unable to start your computer without the help of your Win XP installation disk recovery software, as user32.dll is a crucial windows file.

AVG have released a changed version of their software available for download from their site, but until such time as you've downloaded it, I'd advise checking the threat results that it gives you very very carefully, and making sure that you don't accidentally delete or quarantine the user32.dll file.

More info available here (or all over the web, if you google):

I thought this only affected a few non-English versions.

I believe the update was brought out a day or two before my post. I was under the impression that it was all versions of Windows XP, not just certain language versions, although I'm quite open to being proven incorrect on that.
