    Hey
Im thinking of going to dcu next year. for a bsc. in computer applications. Now im wondering what are the odds of getting it? i Mean i have the prospectus in my hands and it says people with 500 points or more or are foreign have priority. Im wondering as im expecting between 310-360 points, is there gonna be a lot stopping me from getting accommodation in dcu? is it hard to get into?

    Thanks
    VaPz

I don't think it's as hard as you may think. I didn't hear of many people who weren't accepted anyway. What county are you living in?

It's all about the county that you live in!!! Seriously if you live in a far away county you are practically guaranteed on campus accom. That said I had quite a few friends who lived in neighbouring counties of Dublin and they all got campus too!

I lived in DCU for the four years of my degree.

oh sorry, i live in dublin. Not to far from dcu, i could live off campus easily. but i would just like to move out and "experience" college. Im just quite excited bout it and dont wanna get turned away :-/

    Thanks for the quick replies

They also give priority to first and 4th years.

Well considering Larkfield is 1st year only I'd assume they give 1st years priority :p

I've never heard of s first year who wasn't granted accomodation. My roommate in first year didn't even apply for a room until the first day of Orientation week.

    Hey =]

I got larkfield no bother, I'm from wexford - but I know people from inside dublin who've gotten it too(Dublin 12 and also one from just over the southside)

It's not hard to get into really, and it's well worth it =] even if you don't get larkfield make sure you apply for hampstead also.

I didnt get a place in larkfield when i went into first year last year.

They didnt even tell me i didnt get it. I had to ring them up to find out.

Apply and if you don't get it just keep on ringing accomodation.

I didn't get a first round offer for larkfield but just kept on calling and saying I was interested if someone didn't get their offer. I got an offer in the post two days later!

keep an eye on the camps res website, if u apply early u should get it.
when i went, i think they stated taking applications round feb-march
...things might be different though now

larkfield is great for first years, meeting new people etc.
but the fines for stupid stuff r ridiculous in there

Apply as soon as you can.
Doesn't matter if you don't come here, you're not charged anything till you accept a place and sign licences etc.
I'd reccommend it, sitting there atm =]
had some brilliant times here, and it's only week 7!
