its not sump nut its the seal

The seal is a copper ring, like a washer. Best thing would be to get a large, clean, wide bucket, get a pair of gloves on and remove the nut and seal. Stick a new seal on the nut quickly as possible and screw it back in. Pour any drained oil back into the engine.

Sounds like your engine is leaking between the sump and the bottom of the engine block. The sump will have to be removed and re-sealed. Hopefully the sump isn't damaged.

    Hey man,
what mileage is on your Lexus, I have the '01 version. Might look out for it when the time comes. Looks like yours need the oil drained, then take the sump off, take off the old seal and put in new seal then bolt it back on. Then refill with oil and a way you go. Defo need a lift for this job. Let us know how you get on.
    Lamb chops,
    Fred.

Ok its like this, the oil has to be drained from the engine. Then the sump has to be removed and resealed, Im going to say about half an hour labour.
Oil will be about €25 and labour about €30 but for maybe an extra €20-30 get a new oil filter.
You could ask him to collect the oil from the engine and re use it but thats a bit cheap skate.

So about €70 to do sump job, oil + filter then your airfilter and plugs you can do yourself. Sorted!

I hear what your sayin there. Smart boys putting the oil filter right above the engine mount, what a pain. Alot easier when you have the car on the lift thou. Maybe someone can answer this question..... I was looking for the price for your seal between the engine and the sump and see that there is none there. Is there a gasket for it or is it just a sealant like silcone?
    spuds,
    Fred.

Dosen't matter, just put the sealer on, bolt it back into place and fill her with oil.
