    Hi Folks,

I've recently started training in mma having never trained in any disciplin and I'm really enjoying it more so as a sort of keep fit activity.

I'm noticing that my ankles are very sore after training from kicking, just wondering if this is normal for someone who isn't used to kicking etc and would it get better with time.??

    cheers

    Hi,

Can you be more specific, is it the muscles? If so its flexibility and that will come in time for you. If not, it may be something more serious or just a little flaw in the technique, but let us know in greater detail the nature of the problem and I'm sure theres more people out there who it's happened to. I found flexibility a problem when I started but it just came with time

OP, just out of interest - have you mentioned this to your coach? That way, you can be specific (when it hurts, to what degree, during what types of motion) and your coach can help you deal with the problem. ;)

yeah went through the technique last nite, think that its just a case of getting my footing more in the right place was kicking with the top of my foot/ankle rather than my shins

    thanks again
