COD 4 Multiplayer Woes

    My System:

    Asus P5b-Deluxe-WiFiAP
    Core 2 Duo e6400
    BFG 8800 GT OC
    2GB Ram
Eircom 7MB/384kbps DSL Broadband, connected by 100MB Ethernet

Latest drivers for my GFX card and COD4. Latest BIOS for Mobo, latest Windows Updates

Windows firewall on and off, router firewall is off

Whenever i try to play COD4 multiplayer it is basically a slide show. And this is only with the multiplayer, the single player plays like a dream with everything on high. This happens as soon as i start up cod4MP, the splash screen is jittery. The game itself once connected to a server is very very jittery

I know it isnt my broadband line, i have monitored in and outbound traffic and cannot seeing it hogging the line, its quite minimal infact.

I have tried to get mty ISP to turn off interleaving on my line, with no effect i am afraid.

Anyone got any ideas? I feel so inadequete and uncool for not playing this game online!!:D

It's unlikely to be related, but in the interest of ruling the issue out: What does your ping show up as in COD's serverlist? Also, I'm presuming that single player runs fine, right?

You say that you're wired directly into your router... Do you by any chance have a wireless card AS WELL on your desktop? They sound like wireless related symptoms (i.e. latency), and on occassion certain apps will choose your wireless connection above your wired connection without you realising...

On other boards i am getting PunkBuster coming up as a possible source of the issue, but i use PBSetup to manually update my PB games

My Wireless card is completely disabled in windows
