if its to be believed that description yes, it should be able but to be honest you should contact them and ask them if its DVB-T Terrestrial Compliant (MPEG-II/ MPEG-IV/ H.264)

I'm not too confident with their site, to be honest it looks like they used google to translate it in english, actually i take that back... google translator would not make that many spelling mistakes..

It only has a SCARt connection, so while it may work for now with the current tests, when they launch the full service and the HD Ireland channel you won't be able to receive it / get good quality with it as it is not being viewed by HDMI.

My understanding from reading it was that when they say "dvb-t +mp4" they meant its a dvb-t receiver and an mp4 player (via sd cards), was that the bit of the description that makes you think it might?

DVB-t MPEG2 only plus and SD card "MP4" player.
    Maplin had almost identical.

    Cheap almost junk.

Is this an answer to the OP's question?

Do you think it will work on the DTT trial. Given the description from the OP.

It does not support MPEG-IV/ H.264 so the answer is no, it will not work here.

It only does MPEG2 therefore doesn't work. I think it's been said 4 times now :)

looking at the specs it does work on Irish DTT but it would be helpful if you tell us make and model of the receiver.

it's from the same stable as the boxes we are not allowed to talk about on this forum

[You can't post links to sites promoting criminal activities. Find a link with Google to someone selling only DTT & Sat]

there is nothing illegal about that box. It is not a cable box that can be gunthered. The box by the way being discussed here is a sat and dtt combo, pvr ready apparently (when you connect a external HDD). Theres an esata on it, dont know if that is enabled, and the ethernet port. Its the UROBOX EX8000 HD+.

Very like the spec of the technomate 6900 Super Combo. 270 sterling though.

I would imagine that it will work given its spec. Not a steal though. And by the way the full spec for DTT also includes MHEG5 which will probably be used to support the teletext element of DTT, a lot of combo boxes dont have this. But some people can live without this.

given that watty has edited my post linking to a supplier he is aware that these are in fact guntherable for use on an well known mmds network.

Nothing illegal about owning a DTT box with a CAM or a Cable Box. However Boards is liable for posts and it's illegal to help people steal payTV. Some suppliers walk too fine a line on how & what Cable and DTT boxes and support they sell for Irish Law.
