Forward mydit email to gmail

    I have been trying to forward my "mydit.dit.ie" email address to gmail...
    I never check "mydit" and don't want to miss any important notices.
    Anybody got any idea's?

    go to settings >> accounts >> get mail from other accounts

    put in your dit email
    then on the next screen make sure you change the user name to your dit student number, and the server to imap.dit.ie
    Then you can set up gmail to send from that address as well.

    I am, however, having problems sending email from apple mail - mail.dit.ie isn't working - am I using the wrong server?

    btw - the imap server seems to be a little tempermental - is anyone else getting that too?

    I've been trying to get this sorted for the first time today - worked perfectly for about 30 mins - and now seems to be stuffed.

    Gmail seemed to handle it ok, is it apple mail that's the issue? Or was it beginners luck on gmail too?

    Seems to be working for me!
    Even updated my gmail with all my old emails :D

    kept missing notice emails because I never check mydit account

    Today I could see my email from 4 days as gmail was telling me that there is problem with accessing the server.
    After logging into mydit website and retrying to get the mail from gmail it worked.

    It seems that if you don't log in often to the website, afterwards you can't log in to the imap server...
