Would/have you ever re-regged?

There are currently 186,262 boards.ie members, however a massive percentage of them made up by dual accounts, re-regges etc. Whether it be to troll the crap out of someone, circumnavigate a ban, personally abuse a mod or set someone else up for a pwnage that you then claim as your own genius (Pighead :pac:), they come and go on a daily basis.

So my question is would you really be arsed? If you were site banned does this forum mean enough for you to re-reg in order to get your fix?

AFAIK technically it's allowed as long as it's not to circumvent a ban or some other shady reason. Typical legitimate reason is if somebody works for a company and wants to post in the relevant forum to their job. Their posts might reveal who they are but they don't want their real life linked to their online Thunderdoming persona. So they use a new account like VodafoneBob when posting in one forum and their usual account elsewhere.


@Xavi6: Why did you make the poll multi-choice? You know smartarses are inevitably going to pick "Yes I have" and "No I haven't" or all options.

Yeah I thought about that but on the other side there's always the 'but two of them apply to me' brigade.

Yeah I had a short spell as Overheal 2.0 because I had to ask CuLT which email adress I registered with: scrambled my password to study for exams and lost the notepad file.

I have only had one username since 2005. I have been banned from politics since the getgo which I thought would expire after a year or so but hey ...

I registered this account in 2000, and by 2001 lost the password & email address.
so registered a new one simply to get access to my original one... admins at the time didnt think me worthy so my 5 post stayed for a number of years. I think i tried once or twice in the past 7 years to get my account back and let my true boardsie out with no avail... Thanksfully got it fixed up recently !

so unless you consider a 7 year temporary account to get my main account back a dual-account... i would never re-reg !

Did it once on another Message board, ultimatley led to me being banned again, why bother really?

I'd only do it for the Lulz nowadays but then it'd be to post hilarious things under a topical username on some of the private boards, which wouldnt work anyway, so again why Bother?

I don't know how. I only have 2 email addresses and one of them was my first boards moniker, which I can't get approved for some reason

I've been tempted to do it to vent what I would like to say about certain posters, but that wouldn't be clever on so many fronts, so I have never done it and see no real reason why I ever actually would really.

I am actually a re-reg though. I signed up originally under my real name but never posted and forgot the password when I went to use the account a few years later. Signed up this account and got the two merged.

This is my first and only account. I've been tempted to get a name change lately though. I was feeling particularly unimaginative when I signed up!
