My setup is as follows

1mb Up/down wireless broadband
Linksys WRT54 G router running dd-wrt firmware.

Sometimes the quality of the streaming is OK, other times it is just brutal.

I dont think adjusting the settings of your router will have any major impact of the quality of such streams......
