The clamping just seems like an empty threat doesnt it?
The whole assigned parking space malarky is aload of crap aswell imo, who gives a sh*te if someones parked in 'your' space so long as you get somewhere to park your car!
Lorraine and the gang made an unnecessary pain in the arse for themselves...

Well if you came home and there WASN'T a space, would you be pleased? :)

AFAIK the clampers don't have a list of which car is in which space, so once you're on the list / have a permit you're probably grand

I wouldn't care tbh. So long as my car was safely inside those gates! At the beginning of the year we were told there was no spaces left and to find somewhere else. We went to shanowen hall and dcu and were pretty much told to feck off.
Luckily we were given the disabled spaces a few days later.
I'd say there must have been a few people turned away for spaces and probably sneak their cars inside... and i don't blame them, god knows what could happen your car on that road.

Dam right. If people pay fees to be able to use the parking facilities why should they have to suffer just because someone felt their car was safer inside. If they were so worried about it they would have gone to the office and booked a spot immediately. It was on a first come first serve basis and whoever didn't get one has no-one but themselves to blame as they didn't bother putting the effort in to secure their spot.

And NO-if anyone asks, they weren't all snapped up straight away.I know guys who actually got themselves a parking space the day after!

There isn't that much parking spaces and there are more cars turning up each year. People should know there is gonna be a demand for spaces but they were obviously too lazy to do anything about it. So I am delighted to see people get clamped.

If your not registered and don't wanna get fined 80 euro(should be more imo) to have it removed then don't be stupid enough to park in there. And if you have been clamped, you'll know not to be so presumptuous next time :)

Yeah that's fine as long as they're paying. There are people that the office have clamped because they didn't want to pay for parking so one flatmate paid for a space and zaps the others in through the gate. It gets annoying when every single space is taken and you have to park up on the curb alright. I saw one girl laugh in someones face when they just asked if she could move out of their space so they wouldn't have to park on the curb. Just thought it was particularly offensive because their space that they had paid for couldn't actually be used and every other one was parked in.

That's exactly why the clamping companies are successful. The person who paid for the space (possibly via the management office of shanowen, depends on what their agreement is with the clampers, maybe they don't allow individual tenants to call up and request clamps?) could have called and had the girl on the kerb clamped.
Kerb girl will know better in future, the person who paid for the space gets their space back

Yeah i hope those flatmates stop zapping each other in, just getting to the stage that someone's going to end up teaching them a little lesson.

Hmm... if they're in your space, park behind them. They can't get out then and will have to come and find you personally in order to move their car. I'm beginning to like the sound of that one. :D:D:D

Sounds pretty good me thinks. I think this should be made a rule and enforced in future!! :)
