Little mention of this around here so for those that don't know:

The Main Event Mafia were formed two weeks ago and consisted of Angle, Sting, Booker and Nash. Steiner (who looks a little smaller) joined this week, so what do people think of it?

Personally, I think TNA needed to define the sides so the MEM does just that.

1999 just flashed before my eyes...I think it actually is a good idea..I might be wrong but id imagine there feud with the younger guys will bring in more ratings..Everyone in the MEM is v.good on the mic, excluding Steiner (Punk) :D

That made me laugh for a number of reasons.

They've defined sides by giving them a name but this is about it really.

Steiner is the best of them on the mic when he wants to be.

I like the group itself but their are some really obvious problems. For one, Booker has to drop the accent or figure out how to say "can you dig that" in faux African, preferably the former. They need to add team 3D as not only are they more legit main eventers than Booker and Steiner (and maybe Nash, certainly at this stage) but they go on the road, unlike Nash, Steiner and Sting (and maybe Booker). If they're gonna build their shows around this angle they have to build house shows around it too. Lastly, they have to figure out how to turn the most popular guys there into legit heels. Don't have a clue how. They also need to not have Christian bring it down from the inside too early if he loses on Sunday.

You must not have read todays threads, the fact it is TNA after all and eventhough ratings are marginally up there is no buzz for Sunday's PPV.

Can't stand them. Can't wait til Jeff comes back and knocks the **** out of Kurt...again.

What's really annoying about the storyline is the inserts where the wrestlers are being interviewed and talking as if it's real.

That would be the ultimate twist..But surely they couldnt do that after the stuff Angle said to Jarrett around the time of Bound for Glory..The fans arent that stupid to just accept Jarrett to be friends with Angle...

They accepted that Nash befriended Joe for an entire year to lull him into a false sense of security so he could turn on him.

I accepted that Nash was friends with Joe for a year but he whined too much and pissed him off so he turned on him. TNA can't say that outright so they need the fans to fill in the blanks

Nope Nash said the Scott Hall no show incident was the beginning of the plan so to speak.

Yes I know Wikipedia but still

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Nash
On the September 11 edition of Impact, prior to the No Surrender pay per view, he seemingly parted ways with Samoa Joe on good terms, telling him that he has taught him everything he knows, and he is on his own now. This was all due to the fact that Nash's contract was up, and briefly left TNA due to contractual and merchandising disputes. One month later, Kevin Nash returned at Bound for Glory IV and in a swerve turned heel on Samoa Joe by cracking him in the back with Sting's bat and helping Sting win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. On the Live HD edition of Impact on October 23rd, he formally joined Sting, Booker T, and Kurt Angle to create a heel stable called the Main Event Mafia. He explained that he never forgave Joe for his scathing comments directed at his best friend, Scott Hall's infamous noshow almost a year prior, and befriending him was all part of a long term plan to screw him out of the title.
