Not sure if its a real blowback AEG
it looks like a home made gearbox mod to make the cocking handle move

Just came across this video on you tube. Does anyone know what brand this G36 is and its price if any one owns it?

It's a CA G36 according to the description

It says in the video title its a customised Classic Army.

But on that note....G&G had a G36c with blowback on the drawing board up until a few months. Its been put aside for now, but they haven't given up on it....

It is possible to modify the gearbox of an AEG so that the movement of the piston can move an external piece, in this case the cocking lever and ejection port cover. The TM PSG-1 has this feature out of the box, but that is the only AEG I know of which does. I've seen it done on a few different AEGs before but never really bothered trying it myself.

The PSG-1 has a slot above the piston and a sprung bar which pops down from the above the gearbox and makes contact with the back of the piston and in turn pushes the ejection port cover back when the piston moves back.

The TM AK something or other has it too, aswell as the Toptech/G&G series.,:)

TM AK74MN has it, as does the (rather poor) Army L85A1. The difference with the TM and G&G ones is that they use the force, along with a countersprung weight, to simulate some form of recoil, where the PSG1 and L85A1 are merely a cosmetic feature (though rather fetching on the PSG1).

Hypothetically speaking, if I was to make this modification to a jgG36c how much would it cost me and would it affect the performance of the aeg?

Cost... not too much assuming you have the skills required to do it.

Performance... it will likely reduce the rate of fire slightly due to the extra work the motor needs to do to push the extra weight.

all the new vfc aks have the feature as well along with the kings arms galil and slr

you will get a decrease in rpm and also more importantly a marks decrease in battery life, having the blowback engaged in the vfc ak74m the battery life is decreased by over a 3rd and i have to bring additional battery's to a skirmish is i wish to use it.

This extra drain on the battery does seem to be a feature of the older rather cruder versions of aeg blowback, where there is a hole in the gearbox shell and the by means of a simple bit of wire the movement of the piston is transferred into movement in the cover.

The new G7G and TM m4 have done for new updated design and will be interesting to see what the performance is like.
