Managed to pick up a Crate Powerblock for 150 today and I'm looking for a decent quality cab to go with it ! My price range would be about 300 - 400, can anyone recommend anything ?

    This is what i'd recomend.

    http://www.thomann.de/ie/harley_benton_g212_vintage.htm

2x12s are the best compromise between tone/volume and size.

That one is dirt cheap and comes with two celestion vintage 30s (well regarded speakers)

Very nice price alright, have you played through it yourself ? I wouldn't wanna get it and have it crap out on me or discover that its rubbish ! :P

Ive played through one and for the lack of a better term it just came across as very unfocused.

Considering how long one can hold onto a good cab for its worth investing in a decent one forgoing the need to upgrade later. For a little more you could get http://www.thomann.de/ie/orange_ppc212_cob.htm which imo would be a much wiser investment, providing you are cool with the colour :p.

The color is a bit too 'out there' for me, its not Metal enough :P

It'd be for bedroom use more than anything else, I wouldn't want anything too big as whats the point in getting a big beefy cab if you can't crank it up without breaking windows ? :pac:

Em.no. Marshall is horribly overpriced. And considering he just said he doesnt want anything too big, i'd imagine that randall is kinda NA here :D.

If you dont like the harley benton cab because you want a high quality cab, then i'd recomend something like this....http://www.tube-town.net/ttstore/product_info.php/info/p3099_TTC-2-12--REX-Pro.html

And load it up with whatever speakers you're looking for.

Would you ever ask my bollocks?!:D

The man asked for a metal cabinet, and that Randall is a savage piece of kit for 300 squid!

Hey Pyr0, are you using the powerblock for the pod?
If so, it's same as myself. I was looking for a 1x12 cab and voodoo_child here pointed me in the direction of building one.
If you have the time and the patience, it's not that difficult once you have the plans.
    Here have a looksee :)

any sound clips of the pod > powerblock > cab..

would be interested in hearing some if it wasn't a hassle...

Nah, I don't. I think I found a few on the aul' youtube a good while back. Do a search for the pod & powerblock, see what comes up
