Weird problem with dell xps m1530

I recently got a xps m1530 with vista home pre-installed. I cleared it down to get rid of bloatware and then re-installed vista as I always do with new laptops. Everything was fine for the first few days now every time I reinstall a new program it corrupts the mbr. If I put the vista disc in and repair it everything is fine until I re-install another program. Has anyone seen this problem before?

Possibly the most off topic and unhelpful reply ever, but did a full Vista disc come with the laptop, or is it just a restore disc type thing? (bought one myself and will be repartitioning and reinstalling windows as soon as I switch it on:p)

Sounds a little weird anyway... Might be worth booting from the vista disc, choosing repair and then command prompt. from there type "bootrec /fixmbr" then "bootrec /fixboot"

What is it with people and their fecking XPS lappys?

But yes: Did you format the drive and use an OEM Disc to Reinstall, or what? This is a new one on me, and unfortunately Dell will probably huff at you for dicking around with the installation in the first place.

If you have the OEM Disc all I can suggest is a full Disk Format and try your call again. If you need assistance Dial your operator.

Yep have the disc and tried fixmbr and fixboot stuff. Anyway I gave up trying fix this and just formatted and re-installed vista again. Seems okay for the time being
