    dunno
I'm lovin the WaW beta. Took a while get into the rythym of the games but its class now.
The 3 mulit levels are class and hopefully representative of whats coming. Add to that the co-op features, I think this will be played by me for months to come.
    Roll on friday!!!

    dunno
I think it may be better. Played a good bit of the beta, the major thing I missed in cod4 are the bolt action rifles of cod2. I find it much more satisfying to drop enemies with single accurate bolt action fire, as opposed to the fullauto spray of cod4 (the rpd being the best by a mile, including the best sight). Actually I would have liked to try the snipers in cod4 with just iron sights, but I couldn't, and the acog with that stupid red arrow is utterly rubbish :(
In saying this, the bolt action rifles in cod waw are quite weak even with stopping power, and softcore mode blatantly favours the deployment of the thompson and other automatics+steady aim. This tactic sickens me, so I spend most of my time playing hardcore.
However, hardcore in the beta is dodgey. Often times I play on servers where I have no hud (which suggests hardcore), but it is obviously not hardcore when you start dealing out damage and the enemies don't die. But there are proper hardcore servers too, where the damage is what any experienced cod4 player would expect. Also, did I miss it, or is there still no filter to find hardcore servers?
I like how the dead bodies behave in codwaw, they behave much closer to reality, it is certainly far superior to cod4. In cod4 multiplayer player's bodys turned to jelly when they were killed, with limbs and torsos flopping in impossible directions towards the ground. It doesn't take an expert to tell you that being killed by bullets does not liquidate your skeletal structure! Nice to have a bit of gore too.
The killcam for the artillery and grenades is quite good. The artillery is fairly rubbish though. It takes far too long to come in, horns let everyone know its coming and then it hammers the same area for far too long. I find I may get a few kills in the first few shells but get nothing in the other like 8 shells that fall, unless i'm on a large server. The dogs are pretty cool, but they are not easy to shoot. I find myself having to aim well infront of the dogs to hit them, and often times it pisses me off when the crosshair is on and I dont get a hit. I recon the best weapon against a crazed dog besides bullets would be a beyonette, however it is much too difficult to kill them with this weapon. Ofc the artillery and dogs are far better than the airstrikes that come in at random stupid angles and that annoying flying aimbot (god what a horrible idea that was) of cod4.

Taking all this into consideration, personally I think I will prefer codWaW to cod4. My 14days+ game time in cod4 may be a factor in wanting a change!

    dunno
Just played through the single player campaign (played a "trial" version of WaW). I was really impressed. A huge improvement over CoD 2 I feel. They defo try to bring in (to the story mode) the elements that made CoD 4 so memorable (I wont mention what as I dont want to spoil them for ye).
The story is more fragmented than CoD 4 but I'll let it off as 4 had a free reign when it came to locales and story whereas any serious WW2 game must be somewhat based in reality.
Looking forward to getting the disc proper on friday and jump back in with the co-op.
Oh ya, just gave the zombie level a go, got to level 3 only but thats only cos when the bastards broke into the building I nearly crapped myself!!!

This is gonna be the only game I play for a while I think.

Well, based on my experience of the CoD:WaW Beta I voted "No" because I only managed to connect to a server once. After that I kept getting error messages everytime (ERROR: Server authentication failed). I believe it is because I was using a Wireless connection (I hope the final version of the game won't be riddled with such problems!).

So because I only played for 10 minutes and I didn't enjoy it that much I have to say that CoD4 will always be a superior game.

But I will buy the game and give it a proper try and get back to you with, hopefully, some very positive comments! ;)

If you don't call CoD:WaW "CoD5" then you should be calling CoD4 "CoD3"...

Their are some dodgy AI moments and very little seems to have changed from earlier COD games.

Time to get back in Fallout and Farcry 2 me thinks.

Dodgy AI moments and Far Cry 2 go hand in hand. I can't see the AI being as bad as FC2 was in fairness.
