Sorry if this sort of query has been done to death but i'm stumped on what to get my dad for the christmas. He's a big golfer so something related is probably the best bet. Its really his only interest.

Any suggestions? Got him a club for his birthday a couple of months ago so dont want to do that again - unless he starts dropping his unsubtle hints. I'd also rather avoid vouchers for a golf shop as thats been done to death too. Hence why i'm stuck.

What about a round of golf? If so where? Or a short golf break? Or any other suggestions?

budget about €200 but could stretch it if really necessary.

    thanks in advance.

open fairways could be your answer I think the cost 150 for a year and you get half price golf on a lot of golf courses .
If you could stretch to 300 ( I know there's a recession) you could get an electric golf trolley the golfmotion model is 299 includes 36 hole battery and carry bag and are quite good

Thanks very much. I'll look into that first suggestion. He already has some posh fancy dan trolley. He was sick a couple of years ago and had to give up Golf for a while which nearly killed him i think. When he was able to go back he got a trolley to make it easier for himself.

    thanks again

    A couple of ideas.....

Maybe buy him the best raingear you can.

Buy him the best Footjoy shoes you can afford.

    New Golf bag.

New sweater, trousers and socks and throw in a couple of books (eg Pelz's Short Game Bible).

Saw this on GUI site earlier - €200 for full day clinic or €130 for a half day.

Also, a lot of clubs will do special green fee rates (you might get 5 rounds for the price of 4 at some places, like Moyvalley www.moyvalley.com )

It's that time of year again.
What's the latest in golf gifts this Xmas.?
I have seen a pro version of the distance finder in the US, but have not come across them here.
I think it cost approx 200 usd.
