Anyone know what the situation is with the above?

Right now there is a 1971 Jimmy Stewart film which the channel says is not available on Freesat

Is this all programs until the 18th of November. It was fine last night

No one knows what is going on exactly. It would appear that Fiv, just like ITV before them, are trialling a system where they can block certain programs in case the need should ever arise.

ITV did similar with ITV2 a few years back. I can't recall ITV ever using it since.

Remember, the feed you are looking at is still only a test. Five does not officially go FTA till Nov. 18

With ITV you still find the odd programme (usually a film) is blocked on the +1 channels

Is the blocking of programme's / films expected to be a regular thing for 5 ?

Thanks Guys - it seems to be only certain programs at the moment and no particular logic, so we will wait to see when they officially launch...

they didn't block the football the other night, which is one of the things you would have expected to be blocked.

If Five does block programmes on a regular basis how will they inform people?

    Imagine the situation,

You cant get Channel 5 on Freeview in the UK because the signal is poor in you area, so you opt for a Freesat box.

You set up your PVR Freesat box to record a film only to find out that the film has a unable to view message for freesat customers!

Now explain that to the paying public that the service they have purchased is like a poor mans relationship to the customers who have purchased freeview or have SKY, or even a basic TV aerial!

I really think Five are making a huge mistake if they block out anything! Who cares if there is overspill to Ireland? Irish channels should allow overspill to the UK then everyone is happy!

Do you need a postcode to set up the EPG on a freesat box?

Yes on a Freesat box you do need to enter a postcode but on a Sat4free box a Northern Ireland postcode is locked in.
