Can anyone tell me if the WI-FI feature on the DS lite allows the user to browse the internet and can the DS Lite play avi's, mpeg movies, etc.
Most the sites give basic features, but I want something a bit more specific?

you can buy an internet brwser for he DSlite but from most accounts its sucks. The DS wont play any of those files to the best of my knowledge, certainly not out of the box.

THe New DSi which is about 6 months away will have a browser built in, no release date for the DSi though.

While a DSlite won't do any of these things straight out of the box they are all possible with use of a cartridge like an R4 card and some simple homebrew applications you can download legally and for free online.

An R4 card costs around E20.There are other similar cards but I'm not sure which is best. There are plenty tutorials on youtube showing you how to set these cards up etc and they are relatively idiot proof.

To watch films on a ds you need to encode avi. etc to DPG which can be done easily using a free program called batchdpg. You can view films or listen to MP3s on Ds using a free application called moonshell. It's very good.

To browse the internet there are a few options but I use the browser in DSOrganise. It's opensourse too so it's free. You can't view images or flash with it but it's very fast and it's better than nothing. It definitely won't replace your laptop but it's handy for passing the time sometimes.

If you read up you might find better applications than these. It's worth doing some research online.

Umm... for those games that support Wifi, there is a settings page where you'll need to enter any details of your wireless router (security etc)... once it's entered and working, all Wifi enabled games will be able to connect to your router.
