Hi everyone...well about 2 days ago my penis started feeling a bit sore right at the tip. The next day it felt like it was getting hard (not an erection) like as though the skin was getting tough....a kind of scab formed around it...not a full one but like tough skin in patches around the tip....I gently peeled the scabby parts off and now the tip is bright red and really sore.....anyone have this problem or does anyone know if there is a cream or something I can use like sudocream or something?

Thanks and sorry if I grossed some people out :(

Yeah time to go to the doctor,

If your sexually active, (and even if your not)

If your too embarassed there are anonymous STD clinics, (if your in dublin try james.)

Don't be fooled if it appears to be healing get it checked.

It could for example be something like this.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syphilis

    Best of luck OP

No dude, it really sounds like Thrush, you need the antibiotic cream or oral tablet.

It can be from sex. Girls have the yesty candida in their love box. Your rythym stick then gets all itchy, dry and irritated. The creams really help.

Chances are though, this problem may flare up when you are run down in the future. Its like a coldsore almost. Once you get one, the virus is in the system and they can occur again.

Hope you wont have any problems going to the doc OP. Dont be embarrassed and get it sorted asap.

It's more than likely a yeast infection. However, it could be lots of other things too though as it's impossible to diagnose something like that online.

Yeast infections can be caused by lots of things too, not necessarily picked up from sexual activity. It's just an overgrowth of yeast irritating your skin. It can be caused by lots of things ranging from a build up of sweat e.g. if you've been cycling / working out and wearing a bad choice of clothing down there. Athletes often suffer from skin problems due to this type of thing, it's a bit like athletes foot, just in a more embarrassing location.

It can also be an indication of the onset of diabetes or blood sugar issues in general as sugars in your urine can cause symptoms like that.

I would suggest you get yourself to a GP a.s.a.p. and do not pick at it! If you scar your foreskin you can end up in a very nasty situation which can leave you unable to pull it back and needing steroid creams or even a circumcision so I suggest you get it treated soon rather than try to fix it yourself.
