I was watching six one there tonight and actually stayed tuned in until the finish for the first time in a long time.
There was a good rapport between all newscasters and a general air of professionalism throughout.
I began to realise what in fact kept me interested even though the news, as usual, involved murder, crime, unemployment etc, was the fact that Brian Dobson is not back from the states yet!!
I personally hate his demeanour on screen. He comes across very bullyish and righteous and bugs the life out of me.
Anyone else dislike him to the same extent??

    nope.

OP: Just be grateful that Vincent Brown doesn't read the news if Dobson unsettles you ;)

Yep, and I don't rate him as a journalist either.

I find there to be a good rapport when Dobson is there too. He has a wealth of experience behind him and always does a professional job IMO.

well when he had obamas senior foreign policy advisor on the news and didnt bother to ask her a proper foreign policy question and just fawned over the fact that she was irish, that was disgrace.

    I think he's a good ol' skin.

Lostexpectation - Remember he made Bertie cry?

I can forgive him for not asking the lady a serious question.

Not a huge fan of him to be honest certainly not in the league of Paxo. I'm a huge fan of Katie Derham and the excellent Alastair Stewart who present the London Tonight news daily and also does ITN news sometimes.

I thought he'd be a bit more controversial truth be told.
It's not his interviewing technique as much as his style that irritates me; I can't stand him tbh.
TV3 'glossy' news at 5.30 for me, and then a peek at six one to see who's presenting.:o
