Programme remote locking Nissan Almera

I had to replace the batteries in the key fob and now the remote central locking won't work. I presume, from reading through the forum, there is a particular procedure for programming this. Does anybody know what it is? It's a 1999 1.4 Almera.

Try putting the key in the ignition and turning to the "On" position.

Then press the remote central locking button. It reprogrammed my Vectra before, might work for Nissan too.

If they'res an LED on the keyfob, is it flashing when you press the button?

@ bigkev; tried that, didn't work.

@ colmmcm; No LED on the key fob.

PM sent with procedure that worked on my old primera, should be the same for the almera.

How long was the battery out of the fob?

I had to get mine changed before and the lad at motor factors said if it was out for more than 30 seconds the fob would need re-programming. Brought it to a main dealer instead, €5.

The programme I got from Alias9 would appear to be the right one but it didn't work with my key fob so I'm thinking it may be a fault in that. Incidentally bigkev a Nissan dealer quoted me €60 to reprogramme it so maybe I'll buy Opel next time.:) Thanks for the replies.

If you can send me on the PMs too, it would be great. My spare key has died, but didnt think it would need re-programming!

    Thanks

if its just the central locking that dosnt work,
    1-put key in to ignition
2-turn ignition on and off 6 times
    3-pull out key
    4-2 indicators should flash
5-when it flashes hold down one button and press the other 3 times
6-after it flashes again turn on the ignition again n bobs ur uncle!

    tis the same for n15,16,p11,12

Hi, I have had a similar problem to those mentioned in this thread. I have the 2 keys for my 01 almera and neither work. when the cars locked, the unlock button will make the hazards flash and the central locking seems to click, but doesnt unlock the car. if the car is unlocked and i press the lock button, the door locks seem to click as if to lock, but then return to the unlock position.
Its very strange, I tried the reset instructions in the pdf and everything seemed to work as described (with the indicators flashing at the right time), yet the buttons are doing the same as always.

I was going to drop into my local nissan dealer but rang them up instead, told me not a hope anyone would take a five minute look at it, to book it in next week! glad to see the credit crunch hasn't caught them ... yet

any more advice would be great

is it when you lock your car that the locks just pop straight back open-this is a common enuf problem, its usually the r/f drivers actuator that is faulty..you could disconnect themáll one by one and use a process of elimination, thats usually what i do.whenyoursitting in the car,can u notice anything strange with any of the locks?i.e is mayb one of them now locking at all?

yeah thats about it, once i press the lock button, the door locks go to locked then back to open in one movement. I never checked if any are acting strange, I'll take a look later. Are the actuators handy enough changed?
when I put the key in the door the car locks/unlocks no bother

usually iv seen them to do that but its manually with the key in the barelland with c/locking.sit in the car and push all the locks seperatly and see if it does it.its simple change the actuator,10 mins.but ur gonna have to check that out,d majority of the ones iv done have bn r/f,watch the locks make sure ther all working alrite for starters, usually ull c one lock working unusually!!by the way which dealer wouldnt look @ it??

cheers for the replies, I had a look at the locks, manually locked and unlocked each and they are all working ok, could it be the boot? the dealer was the main nissan dealer in athlone, i thought it wouldnt have been any bother to swing in at lunchtime for 5mins to see if they knew what was the problem, but didnt wana hear about it.

i know nobody in atlone nissan..iv never seen the boot lock to be the cause-but the is always a first..im doin a terrano at d mo,and think it may actually be the control unit- ill look up a wiring diagram monday at work and see what the locks are actually going through-usually its just something small like an actuator dnt worry about it!

central locking control systems never failed for 3yrs i worked for nissan, all the nissans with NATs for with red/black buttons programmed as normal. quite possibly you're not doing steps 5 + 6 quick enough..

your right, I tried again and it worked.Must be something to do with age!!!

    Hi all.
    problem with central locking.
Car battery went flat. Central locking not working. Can open drivers door only by inserting key in drivers door. Open the door and car alarm goes off. Start the engine......engine runs and car alarm stop's .
changed fob battery and tried 6 steps as outlined up above. Flashers don't operate after flicking ignition on and off 6 times.
can't even open any other doors from inside. Drivers door ONLY opening.
    Any ideas???
