So I'm being a touch of a heroes nerd here but I was just curious as to whether or not anyone had an answer to this....

In the heroes web-comics Arthur Petrelli meets Linderman in the Vietnam War and freaks out to see that Linderman has powers. Everything implies that Petrelli had no powers.

We see now in season 3, that this is obviously not the case. I've seen as far as episode 6. Is there an answer to this anywhere, was Petrelli another company experiment or did his power just show up later in life.

I haven't read all of the web-comics up to date, about 3/4s through season 2 comics, but nothing has been mentioned about it yet?

I dont think it been explained, although it could easily be explained as his powers developed afterwards,or he was an experiment. Either is how i imagine the writers getting around it

Well next weeks episode is supposed to be a flashback episode and should tell us a lot about the early days of the company.

So hopefully it will start to make sense then... but I wouldn't count on it.

We'll most likely just be left with more questions.

Lots of the characters don't manifest powers until well into their lifetimes. No big mystery. He was either experimented on (doubtful seeing as he was part of the group that developed the formula) or his powers simply hadn't yet manifested.

Peter didn't know he had powers until he was in the company of those who did. I think it's pretty safe to assume it would be the same story for Arthur, afterall his power is dependent on others having power it seems. Hence he probably wouldn't have known about his until after he met Linderman, possibly even long after as he has to come into direct contact with someone, unlike Peter.

I'd say it could go either way but I think he was more of a late bloomer. After all, his power is being able to take others powers so he wouldn't have found out about it that easily. Another reason is when Nathan was talking to mother about the experiments and she comments how Aurther was dissapointed that he didn't inherit any power when he was born.

when the graphic novel/online mag was released they said that something in the magazine wud differ slightly to whats goin on in the show, but not only was Arther powerless but he was appauled by the thought of them.
