Went running a few times over the last week - Friday night 10k 43 mins, Sunday night 10k - 43 mins, Tuesday night 10k 42 .....

Thursday night 10k 46 mins - I felt absoultely awful - midday way through the run - legs were not tired, wasn't out of breath and HR nice and low in the 130/140's - just generally feeling like crap and feeling like I had little or no energy- the weird thing is after about 10 mins of this I felt perfectly fine again.

The only thing I can think off was that is was quity foggy/smoggy at the time.

Any ideas or was it just one of those days?

I wouldn't worry about something like that unless it happened a few days in a row or became frequent. There's plenty of different things that can cause you to feel a bit off. Getting less sleep than usual, not really being in the mood for the run, the weather, eating too much or eating something that didn't agree with you.

The fact that it didn't feel hard and your HR was low suggests that there's nothing major wrong, just you couldn't get going on that particular run. If it keeps happening you'll need to take a look at a few things to see what's causing it but it probably was just 'one of those days'.

Funkyzeit, Ive experienced something like this once or twice. In my case caused by eatng something sugary or with high GI before running (even cup of tea with sugar). The energy from this is used up in the first section of the run and then runs out. Your body hasnt being releasing energy slowly for the first section of the run like it should, so when the sugary burst runs out theres nothing there for a period until the slow release stuff kicks in and you feel better.
For example, A Lucozade sport right before a run is not a good idea, and could cause this bonking efffect in the middle of a 10k run.
