    Hi guys,

I was fortunate to get a small break and escape to Italy for a week, I'll post some of my fav snaps as I go through them. At the moment this is my favourite. This was taken with my Canon 450D using 70-200 f4. I very gently desaturated the background to help the subjects pop out a bit more and that's it.

    C&C Please

    Thanks
    -Stephen

Great Pic, I really like it!

Nice subject, but I think there's too much empty space at the bottom of the frame. Considerably more than you've allowed at the top of the frame, which doesn't give the image a nice balance.

It's easily corrected with a little cropping.

    Hi City-Exile,

Thanks for your comment, I've another one with a more balanced crop. What do ya think.

    2nd pic is better.
All it misses now is a white horse.

1st pic is more vibrant, second crop is better.

Yeah, the crop on the second would make the first a much better pic.

Top notch, so sharp against the bokeh and the colour treatment is excellent imho, some shots may be best in b&w, others in full colour, but this is a perfect example of the options in between the extremes.

Was there in '02 on a conference but took time to get some pics. The crap kit lens and iso100 film meant I was using a tripod, but when I tried to shoot two of those guards one lost the plot and came over shouting in non-English and motioning to hand-hold only, big red pressure mallet face on him.

Glad you'd a better time of it, was it just Roma like me or were you further afield?

Very nice capture, the second crop is with out doubt the better of the two.

Were the two guys just goofing off, or did they know you were shooting them?

Yep, love the second one, though they're both really nice.
