    hey guys
    hope yer all well
i have a laptop connect to a lovely 22' windscreen TFT monitor that i just bought off pixmania for 178 all in.
I want to shut the lid on the laptop and not have the laptop go into standby mode, is there a software or a setting that will allow me to use teh monitor and laptop with the lid shut!
    thanks guys,

utilities like that may be brand specific - which brand of laptop ?

usually you just power up the laptop with the lid closed.
or use the keyboard to resume from standby or some such

Go into Power Options in Control Panel.

Within that you can select what happens when your lid closes on your laptop. You should have 3 options I think:

    Nothing
    Shut Down
    Standby

Select Nothing then Apply and OK out of the open windows.
