I want to cancel my UPC account.

Looked back through some old posts. Could someone confirm that this is still the correct address to sent a cancellation letter ?

    Chorus Disconnection
    UPC
    PO Box 11419,
    Blackrock,
    Co. Dublin

How much notice do you have to give and is it necessary to call them as well as sending something in writing ?

    Thanks

Can't help you there; but for any service cancellation I've always done the same:

Wait for the payment for the last month to go through, then cancel the direct debit. Call them on the same day and tell them I'm leaving. If they ask for written confirmation, I tell them I've cancelled all future payments and they won't be hearing (or receiving) from me again.

    Never had any trouble.

Send it by registered post, or they "may never have gotten it"...

Yes that's the right address. I cancelled mine 2 weeks ago - Called them first and then sent in written confirmation. A week after I sent it in I got a letter from them saying they need written confirmation, but when rang them they said they got the letter so there's obviously a lot of crossed wires there.

Sorry to bump but tried searching and can't find a newer thread. Can anyone confirm this is still the address to send the letter to cancel UPC services? Can't find anything on their website have already sent in a mail yesterday and waiting on them to call back.

thanks. That same thread shows the address I posted later on as well though (and its back in 2008) so I'm not sure if both are still open!

The address I gave was used a couple of months ago (Feb 2011).

You can also cancel by sending an email to resolutionteam@upc.ie quoting your account number and confirming you wish to cancel.

we signed up for a year last August on their €70 a month package for TV, BB and phone, do I have to give a months notice to cancel this August?

I think you have to give a month's notice no matter when you cancel the contract. To answer your question, yes. Though do read over the T&Cs to see if there's anything else you need to do concerning cancellation.

    Hi there

Just to let everyone know, I rang UPC today to get the current address for sending written confirmation of cancellation of the account and was given the following address

    UPC Ireland
    PO Box 11419
    Blackrock
    Co Dublin

Sending off my letter today, so here's hoping the cancellation will go through as requested!
