A UPC representative will be talking to Matt Cooper today on his radio show to discuss customer problems. It should make interesting listening! biggrin.gif The Last Word is on Today FM between 4:30 and 7:00pm. He will be on after 6:30pm.

To be fair UPC are a very professional outfit with Pan European operations and have been left with a mess after the joke of a company that NTL/Chorus were.
560,000 customers in Ireland, thats alot more than I thought.
No mention of new encryption system, very odd, must be put on hold .

"We are not the finished article", he says! You don't say!rolleyes.gif 30,000 people out of a subscriber base of over 500,000 have a dodgy box according to the journalist on the show! He also says this is a conservative estimate.

You can download from the Today FM site -
Basically started off as a promo for their phone service Vs eircom and ended up with a discussion about the customer service... or lack of...UPC did acknowledge there where issues to be overcome - direct debit charge was also mentioned and the dodgy boxes and their imminent demise also came up towards the end - Matt Cooper seems to have his facts when it comes to UPC

How could he even start to estimate something like this? All he did was pick a number between 1 and 500,000 imo.
