Most of us have worked various jobs trying to make some spare cash for college(ahem college life!) but what have been the easiest/hardest, best/worst, part time jobs you have had!?

I work as a caddy on a golf course in the summers....7 summers in a row now....one of the most depressing and soul destroying jobs ever. people thinking they are being nice by asking you questions, only the ask the same god damn questions as the thousands of other people you have caddyed for. advice....yea i give advice....the exact same advice every single day....' yea just keep it down the left side there, aim for the white house in the distance' without fail first thing i say to a golfer on the first tee!
sigh...only people who have worked similar jobs will get this!

Still though least she gets to work from home..

Fookin hell, how much she gettin for them?! I'd sell my jocks! They're like €5 for a pack of 3, so if I sell them for €2 each then I'd make a modest profit!

    Thanks for the idea!

*hands in notice to current job*

Best and worst job for a studen is bar staff imo, sociable, can do short hours (till they steal your soul that is), tips are great and if you get it in the right place theres lots of eye candy...

The work itself is fun but stressful and you can finish your shift with a pint and a meal at REALLY discounted prices, ah the joys of a pint and a full steak dinner for 6 euro, those were the days. I later had to drop out of college to cover the hours lol. Stupid when I think about it but I was making 2-300 on a good night :)

Same thing happens in every repetitive job though, same questions everyday, they are being nice though. If i was talking to somebody in the job id probably ask the same questions.

Best jobs i've had were Lifeguarding in a hotel pool, not many kids and the pool was 4´6 deep. You'd struggle to drown in it. Then there was the free food from the hotel, and the fact that we had a computer with the internet.

Other good job was bouncing, bar the hours. I was in some poncy art student club in limerick that never took off. You'd have max 100 people in there, average was 50. Then a few free drinks and cash in hand.

Sounds terrible, how could you suffer through that. Growing up I did various jobs like picking stones, cleaning out potato storage silios with a shovel and wheel barrow in the middle of summer, cleaning the killing floor in a pig processng plant. Those were the good ones.

I am a hitman, it is the best and worst job for students, worst when you have to kill your boss' rival's children with a rake, the best when you get to have sex with the bodies of the hot women you knock off :cool::cool:

Worked in a cinema - which was great because there'd be stretches of 1-2 hours during my working day where I literally would have nowt to do.

Worked as a doorman, which was way better monies.. but it also meant no going out on a Thurs Fri & Sat :(

    Best job as a student:
Packing porn (as in, DVDs, dildos, and all the filthy rest of it) for German mail order company. Good pay, and quite hilarious.
(not available in Ireland, those jobs. Ah well.)

I used to work in a supermarket which was handy. The work wasn't too hard and depending on the manager finishing up at night you could sometimes get free food from the deli (cooked chickens and donuts :) )

After being there for a while you also got a 10% discount.

Apply to any company that has tech support. Such high turn over they always need new staff.

Tech support is soul destroying. The IT Crowd is scarily true to life.

Best job I think was An Post, for one of those christmas postmen things. Worst was probably working in the 4 Seasons as a waiter.

i'm not sure whether it would be best or worst, but i work as health care assistant. took it on as part time job the summer before i started first yr law, and now i'm in first yr medicine. saved me from about ten yrs of unhappiness, at which point i probably would have been too old to do what i really wanted!

still not sure if it would qualify as closer to best or worst, i mean we have to deal with a lot of crap, but then again the money's good and it can be really rewarding!

The job I have at the mo is pretty sweet. Offo opposite my gaff, no uniform, basically just read the paper and I get on really well with everyone I work with.

Best ever was as a fresher I had a job running poker tourneys. Used to show up for about 3 hours watch people play poker make sure they didn't kill each other and get 100 quid a pop :D

In 1999 I was on work experience from college in a computer company in Dublin, shortly before the whole industry went bust. I was a junior systems administrator and they were paying my about £400 (pounds) a week. I also had a secondary role within the company, this involved being in charge of the server that hosted a new important clients web site. They had been guaranteed 24 hour monitoring of the site. My job involved keeping a company mobile phone on me from 5pm to 10pm monday to friday and from 9am to 10pm on saturday and sunday. If the web site went down I had to get a taxi to the office and restart the server, problem solved. This happened twice in the 6 months I was there and once the boss happened to be in the office anyway so I dident have to go out. For this extra service I was paid £3 an hour, 5pm to 10pm mon - fri, 9am to 10pm sat/sun, on top of my £400 a week for the sys admin job. Plus I had a free phone.
I could drink a pint and a half an hour all weekend for free.
