Flight to NZ in January

    Can anyone recommend some cheap airline deals to New Zealand from Ireland/London? (leaving early Jan'09, returning end Jan/early Feb'09)

    Air New Zealand seems to be best I can find so far... ~€1,400 Lon-Chch return.

    check out usit, and go4less... usually some pretty good travel deals in there, but remember, january is about peak season. are you prepared to do a few stopovers?

    eg, ive done dublin->london/frankfurt->singapore/hongkong->sydney/melbourne->auckland/christchurch.

    (done the round trip three times, and im back again, so that's 7 individual trips... ive had a couple of really long stopovers... 8hrs in sydney, 12hrs in melbourne.. but usually it's just enough time to get on the next plane wihtout having to worry too much about the first being delayed by a little. stopovers in hongkong/singapore are usually only an hour, two max, mostly just to refuel and clean the cabin out. if you can score a deal with qantas, i do recommend them for the longhaul, seem to have the best entertainment choice, decent food, friendly staff, all of which are massively important when you're facing 30 odd hours in transit.
