Believe it or not the whole roof line is completley different.
I'm a big fan of the early type mk2. Never cared much for the facelift type.

Roll on Aug '10 when mine is 30 years old!

Really!Didnt know that,i much prefer the early one too,it just looks that bit better IMO. With the roofline being different, does that mean the windows are too?

Ta for the tip,its a bit like the cortina80 having different glass to the mk4,though it looks very similar.Ford were good at minor differences it seems.

Agreed! My first car was a 1979 2.3L. Fantastic cars and very comfortable. Unfortunately very rare now but my head still turns every time I see one.

There is still an original Irish reg. one doing the rounds here in Dublin. It's white in colour, and it's driven by an elderly couple it seems. Fair play to them I say.

.........yes I've seen it, it has an old reg but on Euro plates, somewhere out near Crumlin.

I never knew that about the rooflines and glass on the Granada's and Cortinas.

The Ford range in the early 80's was really very good as far as looks were concerned and the extra bit of glitz that the Ghia models brought made them very smart indeed !

And in the days of Datsun Violets and Fiat 128's, a Granada Ghia really was a flash car.

There was lovely red one in Galway for years,2.0, a 77 I think, it was still being serviced at the main dealers in 1995 when I worked there.

Very true, you could always spot a ghia car,it always stood out from the many more basic models that were around.Hanvnt seen an original irish granada for a good while.
