Heading to Berlin for a stag weekend with a gang of mates on Saturday. Just wondering though; I need to take a variety of prescription medication, some as often as every three hours, and will only be bringing a carry on bag with me. Is there any need to bring a copy of my prescription with me? As in, if customs are going through my bag and find a big bottle of pills, could things get tricky without anything to verify my word?

Prescription is kept on file by my chemist so it'll be a PITA to get, working 12 hour shifts and leaving early on Saturday.

I wouldn't worry. The chances of being searched are small. If you are searched, it is probably best to have the medication in its original packaging or in labelled pharmacist's bottles, and you should be able to convince the customs officer that it's all legit. Bring enough (allowing for a delay in returning) and not a whole month's supply.

There will be no problems. They won't need to see prescriptions, they won't even need to see the original packaging.

You'll only need a copy of the prescription if you plan on taking liquids over the usual 50ml limit.

If I did that it would definitely arouse suspicion! :D

It's 100ml, and even then I doubt you'd be needing anything unless you got a really, really, really anal "security" person. Any suggestion of them trying to take your medications off you, then just remain civil and ask them for their supervisor or who ever the next one up the food chain is.

Yeah the chances of them finding them are slim

However if travelling through airport security and you are worried bout the guys finding precription drugs on you, its better to have them in their original pack than loose in a zip lock bag or something, for obvious reasons.
