Saw it about a weekago and loved it.Not really a horror though, wellnot in my opinion.I'm sure many people will have various takes on what the movie is really about, but I thought it was a really sweet coming of age movie with an unusual spin on it.Its definately Oscar worthy and one of the best films I have seen in 08, well worth a watch , not just for horror fans but for every one.

Goddamnit someone beat me to making a post about this. :)

Excellent film. As meatwad says it's not so much a horror film, although there are some very freaky bits in it. Think Interview with a Vampire meets Pan's Labyrinth (sort of).

I think Karl Hungus posted about this a few months back, i could be mistaken though!! But the words 'swedish' and 'vampires' in the same post kind of sticks in your brain!

Yeah there was a thread about it a while back.

Is it gonna get a release near this end of the world?

I watched this a couple of nights ago (thanks to uTorrent).

It is very good & actually I found it quite dark and disturbing. Looking on imdb most reviewers focused on the sweet friendship between the two 12 year old leads, but that kind of misses the point. The conclusion especially points to something much much darker; the vampire girl is not really a child & will suck the boy in to the soul destroying role played by her previous "father".

Anyway, its one of those films the less you know about it the better before you go to see it. I was so disappointed with "30 days of night" supposedly breaking the mold with a new type of vampire flick (it didn't; they were basically the zombies from "28 days later" with fangs), but this deserves that hype. A genuinely new addition to the vampire oeuvre and a brilliant one.
