The Indian of the group and Mothers legand Jimmy Carl Black has died of lung cancer. Seen him a few years ago in Whelans with the Muffin Men. He was coughing up blood and eventually had to leave the stage. Seen him again a year later and he was in great form

My earliest memory is of listening to one of my mum's Mothers of Invention records. A great musician. R.I.P.

Your mums way cooler than mine and so is your earliest memory. Linda Ronstadt was as cool as my mas record collection got and my earliest memory has something to with a washing line at the top of a spiral staircase. Its a bit Daliesque but not very cool

    Bummed to hear this news.

    Enjoyed his playing a lot.

He had a great career & jammed with a lot of the very biggest names.

    RIP

    RIP indeed. :(

Incidentally, this is the first time I've listened to the Muffin Men.
