Pedestrian lights not activating

This morning I was waiting to cross the road over to Talbot Street from outside Connolly Station but after about 5 minutes had passed there was still no sign of the green man appearing. The button had definitely been pressed and people continued to press it as they arrived. Faced with a non-stop flow of heavy traffic, the large crowd of people that had built up eventually had to resort to walking out in front of the traffic as a group in order to get across the road at all. It was very frustrating but what I'm wondering is if there is someone you can contact in situations like this to get the lights changing again or at least to inform them that there's something wrong? I just checked www.dto.ie and it says their offices don't open until 9.15, which wouldn't have been much use at 8.35 this morning.

That area is a death trap with the amount of buses, trucks and cars there and the green man doesn't come into action nearly half as much as needs to go considering the serious lack of space for pedestrians couple with the massive amount of pedestrians that cross here.

In that situation it's better to report the matter to a Garda Station. They will have the contacts for those who are on 24hr standby in the City/County councils who will then dispatch someone from Sierra or whoever they use.

That's how it works for major traffic lights anyway. They may not place the same emphasis on pedestrian lights though.

It was like that at lunchtiume yesterday too I think, but lght traffic allowed 'normal' jaywalking!

    All seemed OK this lunchtime.

All traffic faults in the DCC area should be reported directy to 1800 29 39 49

Same story again this morning - people had to walk out onto the road.

Interestingly they were working last night so I'm wondering if DCC are just putting insanely long waiting times on the lights? They've openly admitted to increasing waiting time for pedestrians before.

That's always been my experience at that crossing on the rare occasions I've been there. Insanely long waiting times, even if there isn't a moving vehicle to be seen for quite some distance in either direction.
