So what do people smoke or did smoke?

Hello. I am interested to know what everyone smokes or did smoke and have they ever found a similar alternative that tastes and satisfies them like the brand of cigarette they've always smoked, which didnt cost the earth and perhaps was more healthy :pac: With the price of cigarettes these days im finding it hard to buy them everyday and have been off them for a few days here and there and when I buy a pack I abuse them like they're going out of fashion. I have thought about buying some rolled tobacco but always remember bad throats and not very convenient having to roll them every 5 minutes and often adding some narcotics into the mix:rolleyes:

I am really looking for a cheap alternative that’s just as good. Or something that will aid me in giving them up eventually. Maybe something like the Electronic cigarette or similar? Also has anyone graduated to herbal cigarettes/cigars or pipes ? and how have they found them. Chewing tobacco maybe? :)

Dont get me wrong I dont want to give them up (yet) as I actually enjoy a cigarette especially after the misses has been nagging me to give up just because she done so successfully 4 months ago. I was born with a john player blue in my mouth (typical Dub) and have tried different fags (not that type) over the years and nothing is the same. So alternative suggestions and solutions are very welcome in these needy times

Did you pay any attention to the forum name?

Hi pablo, yes I did look at the forum name. I think my post is relevant as its titles ''what do people smoke or did smoke'' and I ask for peoples opinions and what decisions people have came to in relation to giving up ''tobacco''. Or finding a suitable replacement or alternative. I invested in an electronic cigarette and it arrived in the post yesterday and I am delighted with my purchase. I think this is the answer to everyone’s problems and the future of safe nicotine consumption with a view to weaning yourself off it with smaller doses over a period of time. Best invention since sliced bread..

Do you work for a tobacco company?

Even if you don't, this forum is where people come to try and escape an addiction thats killed millions already. Nicotine is dangerous even without all the other chemicals. So is inhaling anything hot/burning. Its an unnatural thing to do. None of us would do it if it wasn't for the fact that nicotine is one of the most addictive drugs in the world. I wouldn't see an electronic cigarette as the answer to anything apart from the cigarette company's income shortfall, what will all their best customer's dying and all that.

(but you say it good, huh? ;))

Hi. No I don’t work for a tobacco company. But the amount ive bought and smoked over the years it does feel like I own stocks and shares in John Player Blue.
You want to quit smoking? There are patches and gums and lozenges and nasal sprays and inhalers that give you ''Nicotine'' into your blood, into your lungs and that you ingest. They don't work well for everyone. But they all went through rigorous and expensive clinical trials before they were approved and marketed as a safe alternative for nicotine replacement. They are officially approved smoking cessation devices.

So why is E-smoking not approved and welcomed as a cessation device? Because it is not sold in your local pharmacy? Their are currently two trials that have been carried out by Dr. Laugesen's in New Zealandon and both have not thrown up any red flags. The ingredients found in e-smoking liquid is Propylene Glycol and Nicotine. When metabolised by our bodies the Propylene Glycol turns into lactic acid. This is something our bodies are used to producing and dealing with naturally. PG atomized ingestion has been done in public locations by masses for many years in the form of commercial Fog Machines. Imagine people having cancer from going to concerts and singers dying because of the fog machines  their are also an alternative e-liquid on the market that is Vegetable glycerine based which metabolises to glucose, again a substance our bodies are used to dealing with and thought to be harmless.

Nicotine is the other ingredient and an addictive toxin, Yes. 60mg can poison an adult. Just don’t inject it and you'll be fine :) But Incase you're not aware the Nicotine that we smoke is produced by the tobacco plant as a natural insecticide, many other food groups that we eat produce a natural insecticide to ward off bugs.. It is not harmful in small doses like anything everything in moderation. it’s the other toxic cocktail of carcinogenic compounds found in traditional tobacco smoke. Some 600+ chemicals and tar is what kills people.

There is enough ample testimonials that it indeed does help, I am off them 3 days now and haven’t had a cigarette or wanted one. people are so obsessed with ending addiction to nicotine, rather than reducing the heath impact of using nicotine, harm reduction is such an important ideal and if you cant kick the nicotine habit then at least do it safely I say, this doesn’t have to be a shameless anti-nicotine propaganda. I have quit smoking cigarettes by using electronic cigarettes. I use low and 0 liquid nicotine mostly and I am proof they can be used to quit smoking cigarettes and reducing and stopping nicotine addiction period. So put that in your pipe and smoke it
