    hey

im just wondering if anyone has any tips for using a kp3 live for vocals??? im a singer with a band who have been playing some really big gigs and none of the sound guys that we have worked with so far has had any clue on how to stop the problem. the problem is no matter how low the input volume is it either feeds back when the volume was raised on the desk or they cant get enpough volume outta the kp3 to match my normal mic(ive got a non kaossed mic too)

    can someone please help???????

Its defo a Kaoss pad problem. I've tried using one years back on live vocals and tbh it never worked for me. There is just not a good enough pre in the Kaoss to work with a mic for live use.

The only way I got around it was to go from Mic-splitter-Pre-Kaoss-DI-FOH. There are many ways of doing this but really, if your doing one of those 3 bands on the night jobs and your not getting a decent sound check then forget it. Most bands like Radiohead use a Kaoss Pad on vocals, but manly as a sampler. JG gets a signal sent back to him via a splitter, then into a Pre, hence the Kaoss Pad is not in the signal chain of the vocal going FOH, after all the pre is not a high end unit.

Oh btw, its not the sound guys fault. Get your end sorted and he'll be a happy bunny. All he wants to do is turn the fader up, its up to you to make sure its a mixable signal form your end to a certain extent.

    **** in = **** out :D
