have been thinking about an espresso machine for some time and came across a La pavoni for sale on ebay What would you guys think, saw some good reviews but concerned about the size and whether the learning curve would be vertical?

Assuming you have a decent grinder it is a machine that can produce excellent espresso, and there is a wealth of knowledge about it online.

However, the biggest issue I see with it is that it can only do about two decent shots before it overheats, and must be switched off.

Also the portafilter can be a tricky one to get a tamper for (it's quite small).
