Forgive me, I cannot seem to find a "writing" forum. I need to reference some pages of books properly. I was told something about the Harvard system? Does anyone know anything about this? Do you have to give the page number?
    Thanks

Note: I typed Harvard System into Google and this was the second result.

edit: also found this example with page numbers here:

Porter, M.A. (1993) The modification of method in researching postgraduate education. In: Burgess, R.G. ed. The research process in educational settings: ten case studies. London, Falmer Press, pp.35-47.

But you have to cite the page in text also, e.g. (Porter 2003:40)

Thread of the day imo. Personally I favour the Irish historical society standard.

If you look under Edu up there at the top of the page, you'll find a bunch of boards for universities - maybe one of those educated types could help you with the accepted format?

I always find a nice slice of bacon inbetween the oages will mark the page wonderfully, and it makes a tasty snack.
